The Wing Chun wooden dummy can be practiced at many different speeds. As demonstrated here by Casey Curley, this is the speed practice of the Leung Sheung Wing Chun wooden dummy form. Called the "transition form" or "speed dummy", it explores the subleties of moving from one position to the next. By practicing the form quickly, the Wing Chun student becomes smooth, stable and accurate through the unpredictable transitions during fighting. This creates security during your most vulnerable moments as well as excellent postioning to take advantage of your biggest opportunities.

Note: This is performed using both sides (twenty complete sets). He does the entire set in 1 minute and 41 seconds. Casey is a full Wing Chun instructor under Armando Sainz, who studied under Bill Graves (my sifu).
IMPORTANT: Practicing Wing Chun at this speed is only for those that have already put in the many, many, many hours of slow, stuctural training. In fact, if practiced fast - this type of training can be extremely harmful for a someone's development. But make no mistake, if done correctly, this type of modern Wing Chun wooden dummy speed training can offer distinct advantages to the advanced Wing Chun practitioner - paving the way for higher levels of sensitivity and application.
