Known widely as a close-combat hand-to-hand self-defense and Chinese martial arts system, Wing Chun is probably best known as being the core of Bruce Lee's personal martial arts approach. However, Wing Chun is unusual for a martial arts system as it’s a life philosophy, internal healing art and a hardcore combat art. As Orange County's first institution dedicated to Wing Chun Kung Fu, the purpose of The Dragon Institute is to preserve and promote the art of Wing Chun (also known as WingTsun, Ving Tsun or Chinese Gung Fu). We teach Wing Chun not to confine us but to liberate us, to share with others what we have learned, and to discover our personal expression of this non-classical art.
We are very fortunate to have people like Bill Graves, Mario Hostios & Adam Williss guiding our path. From their guidance, we have learned a great deal. We’ve learned many of those small details that make Wing Chun work in the real world. We have learned to really analyze everything we do, constantly emphasizing that Wing Chun is about spending time on perfecting the basics so that we do not need to keep adding and adding techniques.
With the opening of The Dragon Institute, we now have a professional institution to share our knowledge of Wing Chun. Because of The Dragon Institute, more and more people will be learning the same art that Bruce Lee grew up learning. They will be transforming their lives and empowering themselves through the art of Wing Chun.
