Wing Chun makes no efforts to try to “fit in”. It knows how different it is from anything else.
It isn’t an art that tries to adapt to a person’s idea of martial arts. Wing Chun is an art that changes YOU!
In fact, it changes everything you do. From how you think, to how you stand, to how you move and how you feel. The art creates a new you.
What is Wing Chun?
Wing Chun is a Chinese martial art, a self-defense system and a minimalist philosophy. It integrates hardcore, practical close-quarters combat with some of the highest level of mindfulness training involving control of our emotions, acceptance of our fears and appreciation of the moment.
The art changes you because it demands an intentional approach to everything you do. It teaches you to hack away at the unessential thoughts and actions which limit you. Whether that’s how to deal with a punch coming at your head or how to approach the fears that hold you back from being the real you.
Wing Chun’s effectiveness in self-defense comes from its efficiency of movement and goal-driven clarity. The art uses simultaneous attacks and defenses, constant forward pressure smothering an opponent’s attacks, a blend of grappling, trapping and rapid striking and fluid responses to tactile pressure to dominate physical situations. There is no place too close where the art cannot be effective.
The art is highly direct and assertive in its approach, yet it teaches you to struggle less. Based on principles of physics, body mechanics, and physiology, there is no question about self-defense which Wing Chun cannot answer; it is scientific, dynamic and complete.
