Welcome to The Dragon Portal (The Dragon Institute’s Online Student Portal). Here you’ll find access to curriculum information including both Foundation Degree Material and Applied Degree Material, companion curriculum video instruction as well as additional video instruction and links to more educational series.
In addition to this resource, you must also acquire “The Little Idea” – the textbook/student manual of The Dragon Institute to accompany The Dragon Portal as you work your way through our Foundation and Applied Degree programs.
Each level must be unlocked by passing the level before it. In other words, if you are on Foundation Level 1.1, you must successfully pass that level in order to get instructional access to information on Foundation Level 1.2.
Before you begin your first stage of the curriculum, here are 4 Keys to Never Quitting
- Recommit to Becoming a Sifu Over and Over: Some say “I’m not doing this to become a Sifu”. Stop selling yourself short. You can’t become truly good without becoming a sifu. Recommit daily to becoming a Sifu… no matter how tired or down you are! Write down your goal and why you want to achieve it. This will help you to make it more concrete in your mind. When you know where you’re headed you don’t let distractions get in your way. (Know the Goal)
- Train at home for short periods of time: A few minutes. 10 minutes. It doesn’t have to be forever. Work in shorter intervals to prove to yourself that you can stick to it. If you fall off track, repeat step #1. Don’t focus on when you don’t get it right. Just start again. You’ll eventually get it right if you keep your goal of becoming a sifu in front of you. (Keep it simple)
- Follow the steps in the curriculum: The curriculum is a staircase to becoming a sifu. Know the steps of the curriculum and follow it one step at a time. You don’t have to like it. You just need to know where the steps lead so you can know why you’re taking each of them. (Move Forward)
- Make sure you have a team to hold you accountable: Your Sifu/Coach is your #1 team member (partner) in this journey. Your success is their success. Keep them on the same page as you and text them when you can’t make it to class. [Sifu Adam (949) 939-4117, Sifu Derrick (714) 512-1082)]. But you also need at least one more team member. For many, it’s a spouse that helps remind them of how important this journey is to them, but it could also be a friend you see often. Some get a friend to join shortly after them and so they can hold each other accountable. Stop trying to take on the world by yourself. Do what successful people do and surround yourself with a team that will hold you accountable! (Stay grounded, connected and focused)
